MJH is a savant. Very few pickers can play like that- simultaneously play rhythm and lead.

Doc and Merl Watson worshiped him. High praise from two of the best flat pickers on the planet.

Doc also loved Merl Travis (hence his sons name). The way he plays the back beat with his thumb is amazing.
