RE: Anders Osborne

Anders is most excellent - he's kind of got it all, good player, good writer, good voice. When playing solos he finishes his phrases rather than letting them noodle off into nowhere. He's got power when he wants it, and he's got subtlety when he wants it.

His last several albums have been really good to excellent. Check out 'Coming Down' - material is really good as is the recording. This is kind of his New Orleans (where he lives now) album. Uses tuba in the place of bass on several tracks.

He really should be more popular than he is - he deserves it. On the upside, I saw him in Cincinnati about 2 years ago for $12-$14 / ticket. I brought along a friend who loved him. Started off with a Hendrix / Guitar God tune that was about 10-15 minutes long - - - and it never got boring (many players get boring when walking the guitar god plank by repeating phrases and running out of ideas).

Give him a listen. . .

Craig
