Fetched both of these Grateful Dead classics from HD Tracks in 24/96 and run it thru my music software at 32/192. I have heard these 2 records in every format known to man or woman. I have stood 4 feet from them in front of the stage, been on the stage with them, heard rehearsals, sound checks and Garcia in my front room playing thru Altec A-7 speakers.
All that aside from the live stuff is now rendered as not worth jack shit.
After a brief conversation with David Lemieux, their producer, he said that all the originals were not only run up to 24/192 but they were remixed somewhat and remastered as well. The vocals are true the sound amazing.
I imagine the 2.5TB left on my 6TB HDs will not last long...
EDIT....DL also said the releases will never sound better, that this was the end of the journey...
