...public TV had a long special last night about the DC5 which captures the era very well.
The end of the special is about the British Show "Ready, Steady, Go" and shows a number of the popular artists of the day like Otis Redding, Martha and the Vandellas, the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, etc.
I had always liked the DC5s music back in the mid-1960s and even saw their movie "Catch Me If You Can" but had no idea how much they accomplished.
They were on the Ed Sullivan Show 18 times.
They had a string of 15 top 20 hits surpassed only by the Beatles.
Unfortunately their CDs today are out of print collectors' items and go for quite a bit.
When the special comes on again check it out.
