I can only speak for the multi-channel 24/192 download, but I would not describe the sound as hazy and echoing at all. Having said that, the SQ is still not my idea of a top-of-the line product - it's taken from in-concert performances, with all the compromises that implies. If anything, I'd describe the sound as just a bit dry. Sonically, it's certainly not a bad effort by any means, but at the same time it's far from state of the art IMHO. For a really wonderful recording (in terms of SQ) from the same location (Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto) you just can't do better IMHO than this Finlandia album, recorded at only 24/44.1:EDIT: I thought I'd provide the link to my Amazon review of the whole album (which is a composite of my various posts here on AA):
