As far as bass drum goes, personally I was disappointed in the BIS Debussy La Mer/Bridge "The Sea" release because their bass drum was so dry and dead.
Let's face it, such toys hardly figure when the gods are revealing their tunes to mere mortals such as Debussy and Bridge, but when it comes to visceral impact, nothing is better than a deep, resounding bass drum that makes the rafters shake.
