Here's something I didn't know existed - a live recording from 1973 of Concentus Musicus. This would be around the time I was fortunate enough to hear them live at Campbell Hall at UC Santa Barbara, where I was a student and also the classical music reviewer for the student newspaper. Unfortunately, I retain no memory of what they played, except that Bach's Brandenburg Concerto 5 was included, and the members stood during the Bach.
Harnoncourt had a long and somewhat controversial career, but when "on" he was absolutely terrific. When "off" it seemed that a big piece of the reason was he was trying too hard to make his points, e.g., "this is the way it should go, you idiots!".
Anyway, being mostly an LP guy, I need to find a copy of this LP.
