But the Vanessa Benelli Mosell recording drought will be over next month (at least in the UK, per Presto Classical) - and on the Decca label no less (rather than on Brilliant Classics). What? You don't remember her? Well here's a little memory tickler to get you back up to speed:
I'm already getting excited about the new release, not least because Stockhausen is one of my fave composers - not! But as Stockhausen himself said (before he died), "she has the ability to make people like my music"!
Of course, she's still remained in the Italian gossip columns during this time:
Anyway, here's a sampling of the forthcoming album:
Yup. . . this video really gives you a burning desire to listen to Stockhausen!
But Vanessa has been busy in other ways too, such as demo-ing the Pleyel Peugeot model piano. If you haven't seen this piano before, prepare to be amazed:
Here, I must observe that I'm not sure she has the "measure" of this instrument yet: from what I can tell from the YT video (and that's always a roll of the dice - but I listened on my larger system too), it's kind of a shallow sounding instrument (compared to other pianos), despite the stunning visual interest. Nevertheless, with the new Decca release, I know you'll be as excited as I am about her - this is what classical music needs! ;-)
p.s.: I almost forgot - it appears that the new recording will also be available as a 24/96 download too. No resolution too high for Vanessa!
