BJ on tenor sax, with Harry Edison, Clark Terry, Ray Nance and Nat
Adderley doing the brass work (Nance plays violin on 2 cuts), Joe
Benjamin providing some very nasty/tasty bass, Jimmy Jones or Tommy
Flanagan on piano, and Herbie Lovelle on Drums.
This is hot, swinging, modern jazz played with panache, taste and lots
of feeling by a bunch of true pros, who seem to have had a great time
making this date. This is not just a blowing session; the tunes are
obviously arranged, but I don't know by whom. As Cannonball Adderley
was the producer, I suspect he and Budd cooperated on the arranging.
Get this one if you don't already have it. It's a mood lifter.
