I dumped cable TV in favor of an internet connection in '97. Never looked back.
It's actually fun to watch a few TV commercials when we end up in a sports-bar, or at someone else's home. The bullshit is so obvious when you're not marinading in it.
It's not like "the news" was ever about "the news". It was always about mind-control of the population. The FCC made an enormous mistake by revoking the "Fairness Doctrine". Things got LOTS worse after the "Fairness Doctrine" was eliminated.
Don't get me started on "the weather", and the National Weather Guessing Service, which could be every bit as wrong with 1/3 the staff and 1/2 the funding.
