Around 2003 or so, certain Inmates were using the term "Stereotypical Audiophile." I guess they got tired of typing/spelling that out, so they used the acronym, "SA." Back then, SA was not a pejorative term.

"SA" seems to have caught on and stuck. At least, all of the audiophiles who email me regularly use that term. Hell, many are proud to be labeled "SA."
