RE: Are electrical fuses not in common use in electronics anymore?

I was pleasantly surprised the fuse selection at Home Depot.

Regarding fuses in todays electronics. I like to see how stuff works so I bought a no turn on flat panel TV, probably 10 years back now, for $50. All it was, blown fuse. It took me a few minutes because it didnt look like a fuse and it was soldered onto one of the boards. I replaced it with a pigtail fuse, still watching it.
