More of a not knowing his own line faux pas. Went to a dealer in the earlier days of computer audio, looking into the Parasound P5, which I now own. He carried the line, which the P5 had just been added to. I was very interested in the built in USB DAC and he said that getting music off a computer was not possible, and that USB ports on receivers were only for MP3 and thumb drives. Tried to sell me a Sonos and a sound bar even though I specifically told him I already had a two channel system.
This was a dealer that had been a great high end shop when I was younger, but the original owner sold. This new guy only wants to do HT installs and Sonos whole house systems.
I did go back later to audition Golden Ear Tritons and had a great listening session with his analog guy, who had been there with the original owner too, but the new owner has almost no idea what the point of two channel audio even is.
