Bad English, "Straight To Your Heart"

Talk about bad timing. Just when we college students were going back for the Fall '91 semester/quarter, Bad English came out with the straight-forward mainstream rock album, Backlash. During this time, rap and alt-rock were in vogue, and it was just a month before grunge and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" wiped out popular music.

My then-girlfriend and I were on the last leg of our initial relationship. But, Bad English's "Straight To Your Heart" helped give us a late boost. And when we play it now, it still gives us a boost.

When I returned to UC Santa Cruz for my junior year, campus radio station KZSC had no need for AOR. So I picked up their promo CD single of "Straight To Your Heart" for a couple bucks. One of YOU now has it. That CD single is the same one, which I brought and played at San Francisco's Ultimate Sound, which, in 91-92, was still located in the dungeon basement of the Sherman Clay (a music and piano store) building.

All of us are now older. Much older. 25 years older. And we still love, and have a thirst for, good ol' hard rock. To hear material radio stations don't play, give "Straight To Your Heart" a spin. You'll love it.
