RE: A word to people trying to respond to ads in the Trader

I agree that it is a red flag.

However, since the Trader is a different domain, Asylum cookies don't work, so users have to login with their Asylum credentials or will show up as not logged in.

Surprisingly, we do have users that have been registered for years and show no posts. I guess they like to watch.

Just registered and no posts is another story and a redder flag.

Despite some AI code, a few spammer emails do get by. Typically, they are generic messages, not to get email addys, but an attempt to con you out of your gear, so it does pay to be careful. Use Paypal or a credit card only as a buyer. As a seller, get a phone number and call the buyer if you're apprehensive. And trust your gut. If it's too good to be true....

BTW: All emails go out now with aa-user as the sender. I don't know if folks get confused with that when they receive an email from us. If you just reply, it will use the reply-to email which is the correct one for sending a response. This is required by Yahoo and others or they'll think we're sending spam.
