RE: Hand Holdable stereo digital recorders

I did an article a couple/few years back for Early Music America magazine on location-live recording for classical and Baroque musicians, and mentioned a few.

At that time, as far as I knew, the industry standard was the Sony shirtpocket recorder, I think it was the PCM D50(?), that has since been replaced by the 100(?) but also a cheaper version the M1 that the publicist said was shockingly good, but, she would say that, wouldn't she...

My generic advice would be to call Sweetwater sound and BH Photo and hear what they have to say and what the hot deals are.
