You could go the DIY route, ala the follow URLs as examples:

Find a similar type of outlet at your local hardware store, and remove the el-cheapo duplex outlets, and replace them with some Pass & Seymour 5242-I outlets, as well as the similar 5262, and 5252, also available at many hardware stores, for around $7-8 each.
OR get a commercial grade/heavy-duty type strip ala:

OR get an all ready to go medical grade outlet, with duplex outlets that are a cut above the el-cheapo outlets in cheap strips, see:
http://brookspower.com/medicalgrade-power-strips.html as an example.
I am not specifically recommending the Brooks power, it was just a convenient example I Googled.
