Unless you have circumstances that won't allow for speakers, I'd spend that $5K on some used gear and skip the headphones. IMHO, if you can spend $5K on a headphone setup, you can afford a pretty nice speaker system.
I have a decent headphone system but I much prefer listening with speakers even in my smallish home office.
