RE: Why i think soundstage rendering is very important.

Soundstaging was important to me when I first began exploring the world of high fidelity musical reproduction. The equipment reviewers whose articles I read thought it was important so I did too, without really questioning whether it had any real benefit.

Now, not so much. I'm far more interested in tone, musical balance and fatigue-free listening. When I listen to a live recording I don't really need to know where the musicians were standing. I'm more interested in what they had to say.
