Why i think soundstage rendering is very important.

Hi
i was reading a comment about a dac saying " ... this dac may not have the widest and deepest soundstage ... "
More in general terms, i truly think that given the right recording a system able to give back an exceptional soundstage (especially in the depth direction) is indeed an excellent system.
Even Doug Sax in his test cd at the end of the "Walkaround" track says that if your system is very good at 3D than you have a "really damn good system !".
Personally i think he was extremely right.
To give back a great soundstage a system must be noise free, distortion free and extremely linear.
In the end it must be technically perfect.

Then i have a question ... about digital rigs.

I would like to know if you have ever experienced and exceptional 3D effect with digital and which dac was actually working.
When i say about 3D i am obviously referring to depth of soundfield.
Thanks a lot to everyone.

Kind regards,
bg
