Downloads = pure profit for the music industry

NO physical product to manufacture, store, ship, or track inventory on. And of course the artists will be cheated of their royalties and publishing rights regardless -- that's been standard industry practice forever.

Bamboozling consumers into thinking they're getting a good deal due to the "convenience factor" is the most brilliant part of this marketing scam. Even more so if you can't even store the downloads on your own hard drive or recordable media, but have to go online and access the "cloud" every time you want to hear something you've already paid for.

What's hilarious is that the record industry didn't even think up this marketing model themselves -- they up and stole it from pirate "file sharing" services like Napster.

I have no interest in or use for downloaded or streamed music files. I'm sticking with physical media until the bitter end.
