... some caps can short with a loud pop, and then recover. If that happens, the music keeps playing. Also, those caps may very well measure just fine using a meter, and will only fail when running at their normal voltage... and *then* only now and then. When I find evidence of a p/s problem with a tube piece, I like to just replace the p/s caps so I don't have to worry about leaving them on when I'm not around for a bit.
