I can't figure out why the classified ads here are not more successful. I would speculate that at least 80% of the people who post ads and use the forums on Audiogon are aware of the existence of Audio Asylum. And 100% of the members here know about Audiogon. So where is the disconnect?
For the ease of use and cost of an ad (which is currently a big fat ZERO) on the Asylum Trader, it should be a no brainer. For the time being I may continue to purchase items through Audiogon, but I have no intention of ever listing another item for sale there. I know that may sound semi-hypocritical, but that's the way I will carry on until we can get this site off the ground. If it's even possible.
I too am pissed about the new rules of engagement at Audiogon. And I have long been tired of the heavy handed moderation and obvious biases in the forums.
So what can we do to help Rod make the Asylum Trader a success? I for one am willing to pay for ads. What else can we do to drive the stake through the heart of Audiogon once and for all?
