Audio Pet Peeve

I'm curious what pet peeves might be out there about the audio industry.

I could be bothered about the exorbitant prices of some equipment (especially cables), but I understand the trickle down technology and, even if I can never afford much of this stuff, I still enjoy seeing the equipment. I know I will never have a Lamborghini either, but I don't mind looking at them.

As a scientist, I understand the arguments for blind studies, but I also understand the audio arguments against such studies.

I could rail against the changing of formats, from vinyl to CDs to digital downloads, but such is "progress." And it has been nice to listen to some music that has been remastered in a different format.

But the one area where I do feel I have a pet peeve is in the quality of recorded music. As audiophiles, we are at the mercy of the music we purchase. It is such a shame to have poorly recorded or highly compressed music and, to a certain extent, there isn't much we can do about it.

What about the rest of you?
