I have all their albums. Your comment about their last album is interesting. They played music from all of their albums, Neon Bible the least.
I mentioned to my wife that the earlier stuff they seemed to play with much more feeling and passion than the later stuff.
Mind you, that may simply be due to the comfort of familiarity than anything else.
To your point of selection of venue, I do agree with you. I would much rather see and hear Colin James at Massey Hall than Jimmy Buffett at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto.
But. And a big but. If the only way you're going to see Arcade Fire is at an arena, don't deny yourself the opportunity. It's not like the old days when the artists danced to the label's tune - now the top acts call the shots and put together a show that they hope people will enjoy.
