Also called Norsorex, "dead" "sad" or "unhappy" balls. No kidding. A superior and not overly expensive elastomer made and used specificaly for vibe damping in critical operations (submarine sonar units, electron microscopes, etc.)I buy mine as 3/4" balls from Arbor Scientific. The folks at Edmund Scientific have them in larger sizes.
These work better IME than sorbothane.
Steve at Herbie's Audio Labs claims superior performance for their elastomer to any of the above and I admit their stuff is very good too, but it's not so cheap. He does sell it in a variety of sizes and will give you very good information on size to weight bearing capacity, plus he's excellent at honoring his satisfaction guarantee.
