While you would have to ask ack! directly how long a full charge will power the DAC, in my old Phonopre (which has a similar power consumption) it was several 100 Hours out of arguably larger batteries.
I'd rather have a wall wart charger and a pair of batteries than the kind of effort it takes to do a AC based supply properly. The only concern you will have is that you need new batteries in about 3 - 5 years, which is tolerable if you ask me....
