I agree with that, especially in conjunction with a good DAC. However, in my experience, there is still one digital gremlin to fully banish. Listening fatigue. At least, via PCM digital. Digital listening fatigue is no longer the commonly obvious factor it once was upon even short listening. Raspy or splashy treble, flat soundstage, just the feeling to turn the volume down or even off. With good digital, it can take awhile before fatigue becomes apparent. This may be only gradually apparent, sometimes manifesting as boredom with the sound, or provoking an somewhat anxiousness feeling about the playback.
