As an owner of the Marantz/Ishiwata CD7, I'm bound to say that the CD17 disappoints me, and it does; but at that sort of money, you could try a player by Naim, Densen or buy an old Pioneer 'cd table' player (of the Legato link era), which will provide you with a decent transport to attach any number of unusual kit or manufactured dacs.jusbe
