I certainly wasn't suggesting that anyone quit their day job!! :-) (Note, I will not be investing in SACD hardware in the coming months!)Perhaps it's because I tend to shop from the smaller (specialised) (physical and web) retailers that I assume this will appeal to others?!
For example I buy my classical music (if it's not Naxos) from a small store in Vancouver, my folk from another specialty store and order all that hard to find prog from a Prog web outlet in the US.
I generally avoid the places with the name recognition as they often don't have what I'm looking for and often charge more for shipping than some of the smaller independents. More importantly I really enjoy the recommendations and conversation that the speciality retailers provide.
Nevertheless, I'd have to agree with you that you probably couldn't feed a family of six on SACD software sales!Mike
