I can hear a one foot section of Monster cable inserted into an existing setup (my own).AS to less demanding and fanatical listening requirements, the difference between 6 foot lengths and 10 foot lengths will not be the end of the world sonically.
At best, it will be a subtle thing, and depends more on whether you let the extra cable length run close to steel or metal, or coil it up, all no-no's.
