I spoke with my friend who spoke with Alan, and it seems the answer was to use needle-nose pliers. I guess my friend, Mike, had latched onto some additional info from a different source which indicated that a Faston 250 is the correct tool. Unfortunately, as I understand it, there are many different tools in the Faston 250 family and the source did not specify exactly which one was required.Addendum: It appears that the Oyaide connectors are like Faston p/n 41829-1. Faston is a brand manufactured by TE Connectivity. According to TE Conn, the proper tool is their p/n 90120. The bad news is the price tag of one is WAY beyond the price any normal person might consider paying. Digi-key wants $912 for one, although I think they'll throw in free shipping ...
