Adding an XLR adapter to RCA ic make a difference?

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

I have a fully balanced preamp & fully balanced amp. They're about 1-meter apart. Currently I use RCA interconnects. If I added an RCA to XLR adapter to the ends, what difference would it make? Does that 'turn it into' a balanced interconnect?

What benefit, if any, do I gain by using RCA to XLR adapters?
